John Cratchley There is so much essential jazz from this, it seems to me, almost forgotten period of wonderful and exhilarating British music...Mike Gibbs work was/is exceptional and, I remember, very influential...this album is treasure to me (as is so much on the whole Jazz In Britain initiative)...it needs support from anyone who considers themselves a serious listener, I think...keep this music alive!

billds Magnificent album, thanks for releasing these earlier versions of the Tanglewood 63 music. Fantastic arrangements of beautiful compositions superbly performed by energized and engaged musicians. I'll be playing Five for England on Milestones on WDIY 88.1FM tonight! Favorite track: Five For England.

gooner4270 Mike's debut LP was my introduction to jazz. Bought it due to the presence of Jack Bruce. Then discovered others on his album (Skidmore) had recorded with John Mayall. My next jazz purchase was John Coltrane. So appropriate to come back to this, which I never got round to buying at the time. Excellent reissue, thanks.
